Position Summary

VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center is looking for a Scientific Content Writer & Editor to help us create new materials on smart healthcare and precision medicine to improve scientific communication, and bring the latest digital health technologies to general readers.

Responsibilities and Scope of Work:

Reporting to the Associate Director of VISHC, the Scientific Content Writer & Editor will work with the Principal Investigators (PIs) to create content for the new and existing research projects. In particular, you will summarize the key findings of research works or published papers and make them available to general readers. To this end, you will work with VISHC researchers to create new articles in the Digital Health, Precision Medicine, AI, and Immunology series. This includes responsibility for the review of current news and drafting updates as needed. In addition, you will conduct market research by gathering information about your target market and customers to verify the success of a new intelligent health product in Vietnam and the international market.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated interest in science communication
  • Experience supporting scientific communication in biomedical sciences
  • Well-developed writing and self-editing skills. Experience working with film or video preferred, either in a scriptwriting or production capacity.

  • Additional Information

    This position is based in Hanoi, but the work may be done fully or primarily remotely. The contract is at least one year and will automatically renew for successive one-year periods.

    The VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC) is a collaboration between VinUniversity (VinUni) and the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC or Illinois). The center was established in 2021 to conduct high-impact research on biomedical sensing, informatics, and their applications in smart healthcare. We aim to develop state-of-the-art sensing and digital technologies to provide widely accessible health monitoring and improvement for people all over the world.
