Dr. Lê Duy Dũng, Director of the Data Science Program at VinUniversity’s College of Engineering & Computer Science and a core member of the VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC), has been named among the Top 10 Young Scientists recognized with the Golden Globe Award 2025. This is one of Vietnam’s most prestigious honors celebrating excellence in science and technology.
The Golden Globe Award honors young scientists under 35 who have made significant contributions in the fields of Information Technology, Digital Transformation, and Automation. This year, 10 outstanding scientists were selected from nearly 100 candidates from Vietnam and abroad, representing the nation’s most promising young innovators.
Dr. Dũng’s work embodies the spirit of innovation that defines VISHC, where research and technology converge to address real-world challenges. His awarded project integrates artificial intelligence and robotic automation to develop eco-friendly chemical synthesis processes, contributing to global efforts in sustainable and green manufacturing.
Before joining VinUni, Dr. Dũng served as a Senior Data Scientist at Grab Holdings and Research Scientist at the Singapore Management University (SMU), where he worked on large-scale personalization systems for millions of users. Today, his research at VISHC builds on that foundation, demonstrating how data science can go beyond industry applications to generate positive environmental and societal impact.
Dr. Dũng’s recognition adds to VinUni’s growing record of national and international research achievements, following last year’s Golden Globe honor for Dr. Phạm Huy Hiệu. Together, these milestones reflect the Center’s dedication to nurturing scientists whose work bridges disciplines and drives innovation for a smarter, more sustainable world.
VISHC extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Lê Duy Dũng for this well-deserved recognition. His success is not only a personal achievement but also a proud moment for the entire VISHC and VinUni research community.
