The Pre-PhD Summer School is offering 50 students throughout Vietnam, taking place in VinUniversity campus from 11th to 15th July. The summer school will be held within the framework of VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC). The top researchers in data science, artificial intelligence, and biomedical sensors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign will present and mentor students.
Eligibility Criteria
The Pre-PhD Summer School is open to undergraduate, graduated and postgraduate students at Universities in Vietnam or abroad. Participants coming from Computer Science, Material Science, Biotechnological, Chemical & Environmental Engineering, Microbiology & Molecular Biology, Nanomaterials & Biomedical Sensors, Bioinformatics, or related engineering fields are encouraged to apply.
The program
This summer school will be integrated with The First VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center Workshop and take place mainly during the second week of July with the presentations, workshop and discussions. All activities will take place on VinUni campus at Vinhomes Ocean park, Gia Lam dist, Hanoi. During the week of workshop, participants will meet and learn about overview Challenges & Clinical Needs, Bio Sensing & Devices, Health Informatics & AI, Climate Intelligence and Sustainability… through a repository of resources, workshops, and peer discussions. Particularly important challenges are identified through group sessions, led by facilitators who guide the reflection. The one-week workshop will provide multidisciplinary and innovative academic and research-oriented lectures related to how to prepare for PhD studies. Selected participants will be invited to be interviewed by one of VinUni or UIUC faculty for potential PhD studies at VinUni, UIUC, or elsewhere. Positive interviews would result in recommendation letters.
