VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC) and our collaborators are happy to announce a special workshop session titled Signal Processing and Data Science for Smart Health at the 2023 IEEE Statistical Signal Processing Workshop event.

1. Organizational Party

The IEEE SSP workshop is one of the foremost international conferences on statistical signal processing and its applications. The event will feature world-class scientists and researchers on various emerging fields, discussing breakthrough innovation in the future. The 22nd edition of SSP will be held from 2-5 July 2023 in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam: a 1000-year-old city with a mix of rich history and modern appeal and proud of local culture and cuisine. The programme will feature many world-class plenary speakers for emerging topics, as well as regular and special sessions covering the latest research and innovation in the field.

2. Smart Health Workshop

The recent years saw great developments in the involvement of signal processing in building smart health systems and improving patients’ quality of care. However, the gap between theory and practical clinical applications of machine-learning systems is still far too wide. Realizing the opportunity for meaningful discussion and research contribution, our team decided to join the IEEE event and organize an open workshop for researchers from all over the world to share their research regarding all aspects of signal processing in healthcare.

The potentials topics include:

• Data acquisition/data mining systems for smart health applications
• Data science for modeling and decision-making in healthcare
• Medical imaging and pattern recognition  

Everyone from VinUniversity and outside is welcome to send in your research and present at the workshop. You need to submit a 4-page paper in advance. All accepted work will be published by IEEE. Title and abstract of your work must be submitted using the EDAS online system by 29 January 2023. The link for paper submission is now available at https://edas.info/N29778
