VISHC INTRODUCES SCIENTIFIC TALENT RESEARCH CAMP IN HEALTH SCIENCE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH VINIF

The VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC), in collaboration with VINIF, is pleased to introduce the Scientific Talent Research Camp 2026 – Health Science track, an opportunity for talented early-career researchers in Vietnam who aspire to pursue long-term research development in health science and related fields.

 

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Designed for final-year students, Master’s students, and young researchers with a clear long-term research orientation, the program aims to support participants in strengthening their academic foundation, gaining hands-on research exposure, and preparing for future Master’s and PhD studies in research-intensive environments. Through the camp, participants will have opportunities to learn from leading scientists, engage in real research activities, and develop essential skills in research communication, academic writing, presentation, and publishing.

SUPERVISING PROFESSORS

For the Health Science track, the mentoring network includes Vietnamese scientists affiliated with VinUniversity, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of California, Irvine, the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Middlesex University London, the University of Florida, the Houston Methodist Research Institute, Nazarbayev University, and the Australian National University, together with professors and researchers at VinUniversity.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

The program is suitable for:

  • Final-year undergraduate students;
  • Graduate students;
  • Recent graduates within five years of graduation;
  • Candidates with a strong long-term research orientation and interest in pursuing Master’s or PhD programs;
  • Applicants from health science and related fields, including biotechnology, bioengineering, molecular biology, machine learning, data science, computer vision, natural language processing, and other relevant disciplines.

Candidates with research achievements and/or publications, such as papers in Scopus-indexed journals, are considered to have an advantage.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Mandatory participation in the summer camp;
  • A minimum average grade in relevant courses at the undergraduate or Master’s level of 9.0/10 or 3.6/4.0;
  • A minimum CGPA at the undergraduate or Master’s level of 9.0/10 or 3.6/4.0;
  • English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 79, or TOEIC 685;
  • Applicants without an English certificate will be required to take the program’s online TOEIC test;
  • Applicants with a Scopus-indexed publication in a relevant field are exempt from the requirement for average grades in relevant courses.

  • undergraduate transcript and degree certificate (if available);
  • Master’s transcript and degree certificate (if available);
  • an English certificate (if available);
  • supporting documents for awards and achievements (if available);
  • supporting documents for published research (if available).

 

PROGRAM TIMELINE

The program includes a summer school in July 2026 and a research guidance phase from August 2026 to June 2027. Applications are open from 15 April 2026 to 20 May 2026, followed by screening, an online English assessment, interviews, and the announcement of results.
