The VinUni-Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC) is pleased to share that Dr. Khoa Doan, Associate Director of VISHC and Assistant Professor at the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS), has been invited to join the Organizing Team of the Conference on Neural Information Processing Systems (NeurIPS) 2026 – one of the world’s most prestigious conferences in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning – as a Workshop Chair.

In this role, Dr. Khoa will serve the global AI/ML research community while helping to strengthen connections between the international research community and emerging AI ecosystems. This opportunity is both an honor and a significant responsibility, given that NeurIPS is the leading and largest conference in AI/ML and will draw more attention from the international community to AI/ML research in Vietnam, a country with rapidly growing potential in AI/ML research and applications, fueled by a new generation of highly capable talents, including students from VinUniversity.

Since 2023, Dr. Khoa has served as an Area Chair and has organized multiple Trustworthy AI workshops at several top-tier AI/ML conferences, including NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, and AISTATS, reflecting his strong academic commitment contributing to the research community and global recognition in the field.

This milestone underscores Vietnam’s rising presence in the global AI landscape and reflects VISHC’s ongoing commitment to advancing impactful, internationally connected research.
