4 Projects from Smart Health Center participated in Smart Health workshops organized by VinUniversity and University of Illinois Urbana Champaign (UIUC)

On 11th and 12th July 2022, VinUniversity collaborated with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) to organize the Smart Health workshops to share and discuss the latest research on Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, Biosensor and their application in smart healthcare.

In the total of 18 research participated, 4 of which are underway and funded by the VinUni – Illinois Smart Health Center (VISHC), including

  • Wastewater Epidemiological Survellance in Vietnam
  • Privacy-Preserving, Robust, and Explainable Federated Learning Framework for Healthcare System
  • Point of Care and Telehealth Diagnostics for Data-Driven Smart Health System
  • Development of Point-of-Care Devices to Predict Dengue Infection Status and to Detect Sepsis Biomarkers Principal

Researchers participating in the workshops include Prof. Rashid Bashir – Dean of the Grainger College of Engineering, Grainger Distinguished Chair in Engineering at UIUC; Prof Thanh H. (Helen) Nguyen – Ivan Racheff Professor of Environmental Engineering in CEE, UIUC; Prof. Pranee Liamputtong – Top 0.35% of the world’s most cited researchers in the field of Public Health and Top 0.25% in the field of Nursing; and many other world-renowned scholars and scientists.

“The presentations we heard today about the work that is going on show that this is impactful research. I believe the PhD students associated with these projects will get valuable experience under the guidance of professors from both institutions”, shared Prof. Philippe H Geubelle, Executive Associate Dean, Grainger College of Engineering, UIUC at the workshop.
